REQUIREMENTS FOR BAR MITZVAH

1)      Must be 13 years old by December 31, of ceremony
2)      Must know Deuteronomy 6:4 in English and Hebrew “Shma Yisrael Yahweh Elohenu, Elohenu Yahweh ehad.”
3)      Must know the Ten Commandments.
4)      Must write a speech entitled “HOW I FEEL ABOUT COMING TO THE AGE OF RESPONSIBILITY.”  Please note:  The speeches should be no longer than ˝ a page.
5)      Uniform:  Navy blue suit and white shirt.
6)      Must attend Sabbath School at the 6th Annual National Youth/Music Conference.

Barchoo es Adonai Hamevorach.  Baruch Adonai Hamevorach L’olam vaed.  Baruch ata Adonai Elohaynu melech haolam asher bachar banoo meekal hamim venasan lanu es toraso.  Baruch ata Adonai nosayn Hatorah.

 We bless the Lord who is blessed.  Bless the Lord who is blessed forever and ever.  Bless the Lord our God King of the universe, who has chosen us from all the nations and given us His Law.  Bless you Lord who gave the Law.

 Baruch ata Adonai Elohaynu melech haolam asher lasan lanoo toras emes vechayay olam nata bisowchaynoo.  Baruch ata Adonai nosayn hatorah.

 Bless you Lord our God King of the universe who gave to us the Law of truth and life and planted it in us in this world.  Bless You Lord who gave us the Law.

 Yivarechicha Adonai viyishmirechica yaar Adonai panav aylecha viyicoonecha.  Yiysa Adonai panav aylecha viyasaym lecha shalom.
